Wheels

In our opinion, Wheels are the most important part of a car. If they are not cleaned properly it can really let down the overall look.

Wheels are individually subjected to a deep clean. Using various wheel cleaners and brushes we will reach right to the back of the wheels. Tar and iron deposit remover is then used to remove any bonded brake dust, as well as hidden contaminants that can draw shine away from the finish.

Most services that we provide will include a layer of wheel sealant which not only protects the wheels finish from brake dust and pitting, but it will leave the wheels easier to clean in the future.

Washing

The Wash stage is very important to get correct. It can take several hours, allowing time to ensure accuracy and the safety of the car . The vehicle is given a 21 Step Wash including de-greaser and SnowFoam.

The Two-Bucket Method complete with grit guards is vital to ensure the car is washed safely. One bucket is filled with a shampoo solution which is used to wash the car panel by panel. The other bucket is filled with fresh water to rinse the Lambswool Wash Mitt before making contact with the car again. This ensures that the water used to clean the car is always as fresh as possible, with no dirt from the mitt being put back in the bucket.

The car is then dried using plush drying towels, rather than stiff leather chamois.

Decontamination

Vehicle contamination is often overlooked when preparing a car. Lots of tiny contaminants lay on the surface of the car, often low down towards the wheels and the back of the car. This can be caused by various things, but the main culprits are tar spots from newly laid tarmac or iron filing deposits.

After the wash process is complete, the lower half of the car is doused in tar remover to help loosen any contaminants. These will be wiped away with a new, clean cloth. Next, the entire car is covered in an iron deposit remover. These deposits can come from many places, but usually from exhaust fumes, brake dust or from being left in a compound before delivery. Often very small, but noticeable close up especially on white cars.

A clay bar is then used to remove any remaining bonded contaminants that the other stages did not remove, like tree sap and bird lime deposits.

All of these processes will leave the paintwork clean and smooth ready for the polishing stages.

Paint correction

Paint Correctional Services are where Detailing really comes into its own. The process involves removing fine scratches, swirl marks and paint fading.

The first and most important thing to do is analyse the paintwork, and take depth measurements with a specialist paint depth gauge. This will highlight any low/high points in the paint that may show signs of previous repair etc. This gives a good indication of how much lacquer can be safely removed.

Paint correction is carried out using a machine polisher with various pads, compounds, polishes and cloths. With these tools, swirl marks and scratches can be removed by way of removing a very fine layer of lacquer to reveal a fresh, unblemished surface. It can take up to 50 hours to complete a car from start to finish.

Paintwork Protection & Wax

Protecting a cars surface is very important to the longevity of the finish. A freshly corrected car will always receive several layers of protection, be it wax, sealant or a paintwork protection system.

Wax does not only increase the gloss of the paintwork, but it offers protection from the elements cars face on a daily basis such as tar, iron filings, bird droppings and general road grime. The smooth paintwork and layer of protection also make future cleaning far easier and more efficient.

Wrapping & TintsPrice on request
Vinyl wrapping is an easier and cheaper way to change the colour of your vehicle, whether it is for promotional or cosmetic purposes.
Many different colours are available, from matte black, carbon fibre, chrome and many more.
Paintwork Protection Film (PPF) is often applied to the front of a vehicle to prevent stone chips etc. This can be done after it has been detailed.
Window tints in various shades are available.

Each wheel will be removed and thoroughly cleaned using various chemicals, as well as tar remover and iron-filing remover.
Before refitting it will be fully sealed with wheel sealant.

Our studio

Divine Detailing has offered a mobile detailing service since 2010, but 2012 see’s us moving into a fully equipped, custom made detailing studio. Two years of experience has helped us to understand exactly what is required of a detailing area, to ensure we achieve the very best finish every time.

With a ramp fitted into the floor the car can be lifted to working height, improving access to the most awkward areas. It also allows us to easily remove all four wheels, getting better access to wheel arches.

Various fixed light sources within the studio means no swirls go unseen. In addition, our handheld SunGuns allows us to thoroughly examine every area of the car.
