Focus

Detailing

Detailing is not just about putting your car through a car wash or giving it a quick polish, Detailing is about taking care of a car, and ensuring every process is covered to leave a perfect finish.

Traditional valeting service are low cost, low quality wash services aimed at the masses, but Divine Detailing realise that these services do not live up to everyone's expectations.

A car wash or a mini–valet can take as little as 5 minutes to complete, it is a cheap and fast service, and as the saying goes, 'You get what you pay for'. This results in imperfections being inflicted and often damage caused – Despite the company claiming 'No scratches'.

Wheels

In my opinion, Wheels are the most important part of a car, therefore if they aren't cleaned properly it can really let down the overall look of the car.

By using various different brushes to clean different parts of the wheel, the finish left is often flawless.

All Details include the use of a Wheel Sealant which help protect the wheels from 'pitting' of break dust and also makes further cleansing a lot easier

Washing

The Wash stage is very important to get correct and perform safely. Several hours alone can be spent of making sure the car is washed safely. Snow-Foam is a vital part of every service we offer, as it helps loosen the dirt on the paintwork so minimum pressure is required.

This is then rinsed to leave the minimum dirt on the car before any contact is made. The Two-Bucket Method is absolutely vital to ensure a car is washed safely. The first bucket is the wash bucket and is used for the Lambswool mitt.

The second is the rinse bucket, and is used to take the dirt off the mitt. This ensures that the water applied to the car is always as clean and fresh as possible. To dry the car, Plush drying towels are used rather than leather chamois, again to reduce the risk of imperfections being inflicted.

Decontamination

Using a Clay bar is vital for even brand new cars. It picks up tar, metal filings, tree sap, industrial fall out and any other bonded contaminants.

Once Claying is complete, the car is left completely smooth and noticeably cleaner compared to un-clayed surfaces.

Paint Correction

Paint Correctional services is where Detailing really comes into its own. The process involves the removal of fine scratches, Swirl marks and paint fading.

Once the paintwork is prepared, a specialist Paint Depth Gauge is used to measure the thickness of the paintwork before correction work begins. The most appropriate polish and pad combination are selected and the paint correction begins.

The process involves the removal of a very fine layer of Clear Coat to reveal a fresh, unblemished finish. This process may sound quick and easy, but it can often take 30 hours alone to reveal the finish required.

There are several different levels of Paint Correction that can be chosen dependant on the time given and desired finish.

Wax & Protection

Protecting freshly corrected paintwork is absolutely vital to maintain a high standard finish.

By using high end natural Carnauba waxes, not only does the finish of the car become further enhanced, but it helps protect the car from the everyday elements that cars face.

The wax is often applied by applicating pads or by hand to ensure every section is equally covered, before allowing to 'cure' and carefully removed.

All of our Detailing services include at least one layer of Wax, and higher end services often involve up to 3 layers to ensure maximum gloss.

Finishing Touches

Finishing touches are always important to make sure the car is finished in the way it deserves. Tyre dressing, trim dressing, door shuts, exhaust polish etc... make all the difference to a Detailed car. This can often take several hours alone to ensure the perfect finish.

Protection Detail 6–9 hours

The Protection Detail is designed to decontaminate, cleanse and protect the paintwork. This service would ideally be used twice per year.

21 Step Wash process is used as usual

Vehicle is de-contaminated using a specialist clay bar. It removes any bonded contaminants such as tar, tree fallout, bird etchings and ingrained dirt. This leaves the paintwork smooth and silky ready for the next process

A paint cleanser is applied to improve any clay marring, minor swirl marks and dealership imperfections. This also adds to the depth of the paintwork and improves clarity. Although this is not specifically designed to remove swirl marks it can often achieve a good level of correction.

Carnauba wax is applied by hand to add a protective layer on the paint. This adds to the shine on the car and also protects from the elements (snow, salt, grit, dirt, water etc). This also makes the car easier to maintain and keep clean in the future due to the paints finish.

A wheel sealant is applied to help protect the wheels from brake dust and road salt. Due to the products nature it makes the wheels a lot easier to clean and maintain in the future as the brake dust can not fully bond to the wheels.

The interior receives a full valet including removal of stains on carpets.

Finishing touches are applied including tyre dressing, exhaust tips finished and windows polished.

Paintwork Correction 10–30 hours

Paint correction is a process in which fine scratches, swirl marks and sanding marks (from bodyshop repairs) are corrected as best possible.

Swirl marks are often caused by car washes and incorrect wash methods and steal the cars clarity and depth to the paintwork.

This process removes a very fine layer of the imperfect clear-coat to reveal a fresh layer behind by using a machine polisher and various compounds, polishes and pads.

As usual the car is washed using the 21-Step wash process, and fully de-contaminated using a clay bar before this process begins.

The car is then treated to multiple layers of Carnauba wax to add even more depth to the paintwork and ensure maximum protection is offered.

The interior receives a full valet including wet-vac extraction on the floor mats, and the finishing touches are applied, tyre dressing, window polish, exhausts polished and trim dressed

Full Interior Valet 4 hours

This involves the carpets and floor mats receiving a full ‘Wet Vac’ to remove stains and restore colour.

The door cards and other plastic trim is cleansed with All Purpose cleaner. Leather seats are cleansed and conditioned, and cloth seats are also ‘Wet Vac‘d‘ to remove any stains.

Alloy Wheel & Arch Detail 4 hours

Alloy wheels often make or break a car. Some alloy wheels can be very heavily ‘pitted’ with brake dust, tar which simply won’t budge with a simple alloy wheel cleaner.

This process involves all 4 wheels being removed, and they are subjected to a deep clean, involving Claying, and wheel cleaner. The wheels are then sealed with a wheel sealant.

The arch work also receives a deep clean, using various cleaners and brushes, and given a dressing to protect from the elements.
